Bamboo Architecture isn’t new at all and in fact the practice is quite common in most developing countries. Used mainly out of necessity and immediate access to local structural materials, bamboo is the ideal choice for most construction purposes. If you’re not aware – some basics facts about Bamboo:

  • Bamboo grows really fast with records speed of (1 mm/per minute)
  • First harvest is usually around (3-5 years) compared to conventional wood at 25 years (First harvest means the necessary rooting system that needs to be developed called Rhizome)
  • The outer skin consists a highly elastic bundle of fibers contributing to tensile strengths stronger than steel.
