We all know the importance of trees for our planet – now we have a new species – the eTree. The eTree converts sunlight into power and creates benefits for their surrounding communities like charging stations, cool water, free Wi-Fi and more. Talk about providing environmental awareness while providing green energy! An Israeli company, Sologic, came up with this very “green” tree to do just that!
The eTree is comprised of a metal trunk branching out to support solar panels. The structure can use the energy it captures from the solar panels to provide USB charging stations for smartphones and tablets, water for pets, a drinking fountain for humans, free Wi-Fi, nighttime lighting and informational LCD screens.
“We’re used to seeing big companies working on large-scale systems,” says Michael Lasry, founder of Sologic. “Now we see solar energy becoming accessible to each one of us on the street.”
