Today is World Environment Day! It is celebrated every year on 5 June. I encourage all of us to play a part and pledge our efforts in saving our earth for our future generations and for a better tomorrow.

Let us make the world a better place to live in by making some changes to the little things we do at home everyday, starting from today!

Here are 5 simple things you can do at home to save the environment.

1) Water is precious

Reuse the water you use from rinsing fruits, vegetables or rice by watering the plants. Water generated from washing machine can also be collected using a pail and used to flush or clean the toilet.

I used a pail to collect the water from the shower or bath of my children to flush the toilet.

2) Invest in recycle bags
