Why is recycling important?


Recycling, we’re aware that we should do it but why is it so important?

Globally we’re creating so much waste that plastic bottles and other rubbish can be found on the most remote areas of the world. As shores, forests and other stunning parts of the earth become affected by waste, it not only looks bad but is dangerous to wildlife too.

The majority of our waste is sent to landfills. These landfills release greenhouse gases (primarily carbon dioxide and methane) and dangerous compounds into our atmosphere after a short time. Not only do these gases have a devastating effect on the planet but exacerbate medical conditions such as asthma.  

So refusing to recycle not only affects our health, but also wastes energy and money.
