Since February, youth from around the world have taken part in our Youth Environmental Challenge (YEC). As we look to the future, we will be making a major change to the schedule of the YEC.

In the challenge’s current structure, the YEC runs from January-December. While this has worked effectively, we are altering the format to better align with the school schedule in North America. We want students to be able to work with classmates over the course of the school year, as well as compete against other schools in their area. As the challenge currently is structured, students go on summer vacation and lose several months to be able to work with their classmates. We hope that this new format will allow students to spend 10 straight months working with friends, classmates, teachers, and administrators to complete the challenge.
