Keeping the house cool is about keeping the warm air out and avoiding the heat coming through radiation. Generally air coolers and air conditioners are used to cool in case of hot condition. But just managing the heat with eco-friendly techniques can help to keep the home cool at low-cost and most importantly with minimum effect on the environment. Here are a few tips to keep your home cool the eco-friendly way.

  • Shield the walls from the heat – Use foam and brown cellulose to cover the areas of the wall exposed to direct sun rays. The cellulose will absorb heat and reduce direct heating of the house. If possible you can sprinkle the foam/cellulose with water to keep cool.
